Surgical Technologists work closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia providers as a member of the sterile surgical team in the scrub role. They are responsible for establishing, maintaining and monitoring the sterile field throughout the entire surgery. Students will train to handle the instrumentation, supplies, and equipment necessary for all surgical procedures, and will have an understanding of each of the procedures to be able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are qualified to take the national credentialing exam for the Technician in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) certification offered through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
