Students are encouraged to participate in one or more of the many student organizations offered by WWTC. Participants learn leadership skills and other skills to help them in their career. |
National Technical Honor Society
To be eligible for membership in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), post-secondary students must maintain no less than a 95% average in their technical subject and attend full time. High school students must also maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average at their home school. Members can not have more than 4 absences during the semester that they are being evaluated. The purpose of the NTHS is to promote the ideal of honesty, service, leadership and skilled workmanship among technical students of America. High School students must have completed 205 course hours in the semester being evaluated. Adult students must have completed 500 course hours in the semester being evaluated.

Gold Star Ambassadors Leadership Team
Being selected to serve on the Gold Star Ambassador Leadership Team (GSA) is an honor at Wes Watkins Technology Center. To be considered, students are nominated by their instructor and then must go through an interview process. Many apply but only a few are selected. As a GSA, students attend leadership training classes and assist with many events throughout the year. The GSA's are also responsible for planning and presenting the Veterans Day assembly each year.

Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is an international student organization for high school and adult students that promotes career opportunities in the healthcare industry to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people. HOSA provides opportunities for students to enhance their personal and leadership qualities through individual and group projects and through skill competitions which are held on local, state, and national levels.

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and adult students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, and for further education. Business Professionals of America (BPA)
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a service organization for high school and adult students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields. BPA provides opportunities for students to enhance their personal and leadership qualities through individual and group projects and through skill competitions which are held on local, state, and national levels.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private school through grade 12. FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families.
Class Officers
At the beginning of each school year, each class elects officers to represent their class and serve as a liason to their student organization.
