WWTC is a proud member of Oklahoma's distinguished CareerTech system and recognized by the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers as a 31 time recipient of the prestigious Gold Star School of Excellence award. WWTC has been providing career related programs and services to district residents and businesses since 1987. The district covers 1,048 square miles and serves portions of 4 counties: Hughes, McIntosh, Okmulgee and Okfuskee. The district serves 9 partner schools within those counties: Bearden (K-8), Graham-Dustin, Hanna, Holdenville, Mason, Moss, Okemah, Weleetka, and Wetumka.
WWTC strives to be a school of first choice by preparing students for careers and giving them a competitive advantage to compete for the best jobs. Short-term and Full-time programs are designed, updated and well equipped to prepare students and clients for the world of work by providing rigorous and challenging technical knowledge and skills. Students and clients earn industry certifications and/or licensures that lead to employment and/or additional education for high demand, high skilled, high wage occupations.
WWTC offers 10 full-time programs and 28 career options within those programs. Programs include: Construction Technology, Electrical Technology, Information and Communications Technology, Welding and Metal Fabrication Technology, Biotechnology, Health Careers, Multi-Skilled Healthcare Provider, Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, and Teacher Preparation/Early Child Care.
WWTC provides Workforce and Economic Development that includes offering a broad range of short-term training from the basics to skill enhancement to industry specific training. To meet the demand of business and industry we continue to increase our face-to-face, blended, and on-line offerings. The most recent additions to training include Truck Driver Training and on-line Early Care continuing education.
Wes Watkins Technology Center is easily accessed from Interstate 40 and State Highways 75 and 9.
