BASIC WELDER
This program prepares students to use manual shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding in welding of heavy steel structures. Students also learn manual oxyfuel and plasma arc cutting, as well as computer programmed plasma arc cutting, weld quality, and weld joint design/fit up. The entire 525 hours of the Basic Welder program will transfer into the 1050 hour Combination Welder program.

SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and adult students who are
preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, and for further education. SkillsUSA
