IT Network Support Specialist

IT Network Support Specialists are the front line in maintaining desktop computers and network operations. This program prepares students to be Desktop Technicians and Network Technicians. Students gain knowledge of the design and repair of desktop computers, the configuring of the desktop operating system, the installation and maintenance of desktop software, the installation and set-up of Microsoft servers, security for desktops and servers, and an introduction to networking.

Students in this program learn the technical skills needed to obtain the CompTIA A+, Security+, and Server+ certifications as well as the Microsoft 70-680, 70-410m, and 70-685 certifications.

Students have the opportunity to be involved in Work-Based Learning through our Live Work Program that allows the student to do hands-on repairs of both hardware and software on computers that have actual problems.

Students receive training in one of the fastest-growing fields of employment in the State of Oklahoma. In addition to learning to repair/upgrade/configure PCs, students will learn how these computers communicate with servers, WiFi, Bluetooth, and across the Internet.

Students also have access to online labs that will greatly enhance his or her education.

Student Organization

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a service organization for high school and adult students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields. BPA provides opportunities for students to enhance their personal and leadership qualities through individual and group projects and through skill competitions which are held on local, state, and national levels.
